Description

The Spice Trade Island Jerk Seasoning is a blend of garlic, onion, allspice, pepper, sugar, herbs and spices. Jerk seasoning is known to add heat, depth, and complexity to a number of dishes by combining warm Caribbean-based spices with aromatics and sugar. The term “jerk” originally referenced a Jamaican cooking style which consists of poking holes into the meat so it can soak up more of the spices.  Jerk then became associated with the particular rub flavoring used to spice up those meats. Today, the term “jerk” can refer to either the jerk spice blend or the cooking technique in general. Jerk Chicken is the most well-known, this seasoning can be added to a number of dishes including pork chops, chicken wings and most seafoods!
